Sleeping Beauty

Not really done anything exciting this weekend. Ian is on-call and I have had 3 nights broken sleep with little miss cough-a-lot of snot-dom.  So this will be quick!  Spent the afternoon at the Christmas markets on Saturday with Mia.... Good company, good hot chocolate, silly hats and a good hog sandwich!

When baby girl does manage to sleep, I find her curled up at the top of the cot peaceful and dreaming....

She's still happy and playful....

Have a good week everyone x

November day trip

Today, we headed out for a walk.  There was sunshine and blue skies in Manchester so we decided to make the most of it.  As we reached Mow Cop on the edge of Congleton, the folly on the hill was shrouded in mist and there was a lively breeze blowing too.  We had to remind ourselves that it is actually November....

We took in the view, decided that the sun was elsewhere and headed back down the hill in search of some warmth and food.

Laughing at daddy!

Down the hill, the sun had broken through.  We ended up at Little Moreton Hall...

As Ella disrupted the guided tour with shouts of hunger we headed to the cafe to feed her.  Daddy decided that she needed to try the syrup sponge and custard...

It went down very well, and poor daddy had to finish the rest...

Then we went exploring...

Then it was back home for a quiet afternoon.  Another busy week ahead so it's nice to just be together at home with no time constraints or jobs to do.  For a few hours anyway!

Here are some photos from earlier in the week...

Peekaboo!

Sensory basket fun

not a toy, but she loves my phone

Baby girl loves labels.  She finds them on everything.  So as an early birthday present, here she is with her new tactile comforter adorned with ribbons...

Must dash, I have a first birthday celebration to plan...

More firsts...

Autumn is here.... the golden rainbow of leaves fall from the trees far too quickly

Time to wrap up warm and cosy...

And for Hallowe'en, fireworks and fun...

Ella spent the week unsettled, poorly and needing to be snuggled close...

We do have two new top teeth to show for it though.  Just hoping the rest come through without any more drama!

In other news, baby girl got her first hair cut.  Nothing too adventurous, a couple of snips and she was all sorted.  Don't think she'd have sat still for much longer...

As the week went on she got slowly better and more like her happy self...

She also enjoyed her first (very tame) fireworks, watched from the comfort of Granny's conservatory.  She was a little tired and grumpy to appreciate them (and Uncle Henry fooling around) properly.

This time last year, I had just begun my maternity leave and we were enjoying fireworks and sparklers at a family gathering in Yorkshire.

I think Ella's interpretation of fireworks is better....

Happy Sunday everyone x
