Constant changes

At the moment, the weeks are flying by.  I barely have time to sit and think what has to be done or reminisce about what has been done.  I have had too many of those 'oh crap' lightening bolt moments when I realise I have forgotten to return texts, calls, wish happy birthday, send important post... you get the idea!

The one constant, yet ever changing part of my world is Ella. Baby girl has started doing a lot of pointing and saying ''der" (? there) wherever we go.  She is putting her toy phone to her ear now and occasionally says something resembling 'Hiya'.  Still trying so very hard to crawl and mostly hates her new shoes but we keep trying them! We had our first bus trip last week and yet another inconclusive hearing test but that's another story.  She is suddenly much more aware (and wary!) of the world as well as the people and places around her.

Three months ago she would have chased after Granny's cats (if she could....). She was a little more reserved around them this time...

Cat in the room... just keeping an eye on it...

Cat sniffing my feet - quite unsure

Hmmm, don't get any closer pussycat!

Maybe you're not so bad...

Ian's mum lives in a house in the grounds of a castle.  It's quiet position on the hill gives lovely views of the valley below and the picturesque setting provides some lovely walks.  There are plenty of places to explore...

Last year on a hot sunny day, Ian (along with Karen's next door neighbour) built a garden path.  He's very proud of his path, and so he should be! A year on, it looks lovely with the garden growing through and the edges less defined. Like it's always been there...

The castle outbuildings are great for exploring (I just followed the cat)...

Elsewhere, the house purchase is progressing slowly.  The recent mortgage rate rise hasn't helped much but we have found someone willing to lend to us.  Here's hoping the rest is straightforward!
